My Indy bike lanes article becomes top story on

My Bicycle Times editor just e-mailed me to say that my story on Indianapolis' booming bicycle infrastructure was the number one story on their website last week. Glad people across the Internet are finding Indy's story as inspiring as many of the locals.

With alternative transportation funding being cut back, I'm not as optimistic that we'll continue to grow the miles of bicycle lanes and trails as fast as we have over the past five years or so. It's a shame, because many of the city's traffic woes could easily be solved with more bikes instead of more cars and expanded highways.
